If your package dimensions are measured in inches, you can easily convert the volume into cubic feet. Simply calculate the total cubic inches by multiplying the length, width, and height, then divide result by 1,728. This method is commonly used for measuring shipping boxes, cartons, pallets, and other freight shipments.

A 53-foot trailer fits 26 standard 48″ × 40″ pallets in a single stack. If your pallets are short enough to double-stack, you can fit 30 pallets. The exact number depends on pallet height and weight limits.

The standard pallet size in the US is 48″ × 40″ (GMA pallet). This size is used in grocery, retail, and most general freight. Euro pallets (1200 mm × 800 mm) are standard in Europe.
Pallet load capacity depends on the pallet type and condition. A standard GMA pallet has a safe working load of 4,600 lb. To calculate your load: multiply the weight of one carton by the number of cartons per pallet. Never exceed the pallet’s rated capacity.
